Week 9- Acknowledging Feedback and Statement Brief

Fusion 360

Feedback- The model of the transition space must be with 3 prisms.Need to add another prism, not only two and save as an STL file.

                                                 .

Further addition of top floor representing the transition of attic space with a window
Rendered with bamboo to make design more realistic

Placed room in an environment to form unique reflections (glass material) / positioning (open environment) and added textured flooring to allude to carpet= home vibe.

Final outcome when saved as an STL file and reopened into Fusion 360, outline resembles easy exit and entry point, levels and allows lighting to enter.

Change of layout for laser cutting, added third prism and additional cutouts- NOTE: needs to fit on A1 paper instead of A2 now when transferring to illustrator

Models- must complete 3 more

Constructed by wood, cardboard, matchsticks, tracing paper (scale 1:50) larger interpretation of room, attic and balcony.

weaving technique/ cutout= opportunity for unique shadows from harsh lighting, addition of textured grip on upper attic floor to clearly identify and side elevation of folding techniques can add or remove (act as a garden bed?)

Using unconventional materials such as yarn to create a dome shape, holds very well and forms an interesting output especially when implementing lighting and proper photography for final submission.

Video
shows the impact of placing an upper level/ roof above my room, natural lighting is controlled and shown better through the tracing paper.

100 words Statement Brief
  • Life/ visuals isn't just a vertical/ horizontal line- rather a messy combination of geometric abstractions.
  • explores the expressive potential of contrast
  • I aim to communicate spatial concepts through elements- colour, line, direction, shape, pathways, materials, repetition, proportion
  • Motif of sharp lines juxtaposed to curves and organic forms eg, rectangle and circle
  • Geometric shapes, juxtaposition, contrast, differences, complement, dynamics, variation, opposition.
